Privacy policy

Your attention is yours.

ScrollKey is built to protect your focus without turning your habits into a profile. This policy explains what stays on your device and what is needed to manage subscriptions.

Effective July 15, 2026 Last updated July 17, 2026

Local by default

App selections, puzzle progress, and unlock settings stay on your device.

No ads or profiling

We do not sell personal information or use app activity for advertising or cross-app profiling.

Subscriptions only

Purchase information is processed only to manage ScrollKey Pro.

ScrollKey (“ScrollKey,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by P&A Apps. This Privacy Policy explains how information is accessed, processed, stored, and shared when you use the ScrollKey mobile application.

01

Overview

ScrollKey helps you pause access to selected apps and earn temporary access by completing puzzles.

ScrollKey is designed to keep app-selection, blocking, puzzle, and usage-control information on your device. We do not sell personal information, serve advertising, or use your app activity for advertising or cross-app profiling.

ScrollKey does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address, contacts, photos, messages, passwords, or precise location.

Subscription information is processed by Apple or Google and by our subscription-management provider, RevenueCat, as described below.

02

Information processed on your device

ScrollKey processes and stores the following information locally:

  • The apps you select for protection.
  • Whether app protection is enabled.
  • On Android, the package identifier and current-day pause count for each protected app whose pause screen is shown.
  • Your Time Bank balance and maximum balance.
  • Puzzle progress, rewards, cooldowns, and puzzles completed.
  • Active and emergency unlock status, duration, and usage limits.
  • Preferences such as haptic feedback and onboarding completion.
  • Technical state needed to apply, remove, and restore protection.

This information is used only to provide ScrollKey’s blocking, unlocking, puzzle, daily pause-count, and settings features. It is not uploaded to our servers.

Removing ScrollKey or clearing its local app data generally removes this locally stored information. Removing the app does not automatically cancel an active subscription.

03

iOS Family Controls and Screen Time

On iOS, ScrollKey uses Apple’s Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks.

When you select apps to protect, Apple provides ScrollKey with privacy-preserving tokens. Apple does not reveal the identities of those selected apps to ScrollKey. The tokens and related blocking settings are stored locally in ScrollKey’s private app storage.

While an earned or emergency unlock is active, Apple’s Device Activity system may monitor use of the selected apps on the device so ScrollKey can reapply protection when the available time has been used. ScrollKey receives only the system events needed to operate this feature and does not create or upload a browsing or app-usage history.

You can revoke Family Controls access through your device’s iOS settings. Revoking access will prevent ScrollKey’s protection features from working.

04

Android Accessibility and app visibility

On Android, ScrollKey uses an Accessibility Service because detecting when a protected app opens and displaying a protection screen are core features of the app.

When enabled, the service:

  • Receives app-window change events.
  • Processes the package identifier of the foreground app on your device to determine whether it is one you selected for protection.
  • Displays ScrollKey’s protection screen over a selected app when access should be paused.
  • When the pause screen is shown, stores an aggregate daily count for that protected app so ScrollKey can display per-app and combined “Pauses today” totals.
  • Allows you to return home or open ScrollKey to earn access.

The Accessibility Service is configured so that it cannot retrieve window content. ScrollKey does not use it to read or collect messages, passwords, typed text, photos, page content, browsing content, or other content displayed inside apps. For daily pause counts, ScrollKey stores the current local day and an aggregate count keyed by the package identifier of each protected app whose pause screen is shown. The combined total is calculated on your device. ScrollKey does not store when each pause happened or keep a general list of every app you open. ScrollKey does not send this Accessibility Service data to our servers or third-party services. Android may include private app data in operating-system backups, depending on your backup settings.

ScrollKey also accesses the list of launchable apps installed on your device—including app names, icons, and package identifiers—to display the app-selection screen. Your selected package identifiers are stored in private app storage. ScrollKey does not send them to our servers or third-party services, subject to the Android backup behavior described above.

You can disable ScrollKey’s Accessibility Service at any time in Android Settings. Doing so will prevent ScrollKey from detecting and protecting selected apps.

05

Purchases and subscriptions

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store or by Google through Google Play. We do not receive or store your full payment-card or bank-account information.

ScrollKey uses RevenueCat to:

  • Load available subscription products and prices.
  • Process and validate purchases and store receipts.
  • Determine whether ScrollKey Pro is active.
  • Restore previous purchases and prevent purchase fraud.
  • Measure subscription performance.

Because ScrollKey has no account system, RevenueCat generates a random anonymous app-user identifier for the installation. RevenueCat may process:

  • The anonymous app-user identifier.
  • Purchase and subscription history.
  • Product identifiers, entitlement status, and transaction dates.
  • Apple receipt data or Google purchase tokens.
  • Device type, operating system, app version, locale, and currency.
  • The dates on which the app connects to RevenueCat.
  • Country inferred from the connection’s IP address. RevenueCat states that it discards the IP address after determining the country.

RevenueCat processes this information on our behalf to provide subscription services and related analytics. RevenueCat does not inherently use purchase history to track users across unrelated apps for advertising.

RevenueCat’s handling of information is described in its Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab).

Apple and Google process purchases according to their own privacy policies and terms. Purchase and subscription records may be retained by those companies as required for billing, fraud prevention, accounting, and legal compliance.

06

Support communications

If you contact us for support, we may receive your email address, the contents of your message, and any diagnostic or purchase information you voluntarily provide.

We use this information only to respond to your request, troubleshoot problems, protect the service, and comply with legal obligations. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, or other unnecessary sensitive information.

07

How we use information

We use information only as needed to:

  • Provide app-protection and unlocking features.
  • Remember your preferences and progress.
  • Process, validate, and restore subscriptions.
  • Provide customer support.
  • Detect fraud, abuse, or technical problems.
  • Comply with legal and app-store requirements.
  • Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our agreement with you, compliance with legal obligations, our legitimate interests in operating and securing ScrollKey, or your consent.

08

How information is shared

We may disclose information to:

  • RevenueCat, which provides subscription management, receipt validation, entitlement, and subscription analytics services.
  • Apple and Google, which process app distribution, purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and related store services.
  • Professional advisers and authorities, when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, prevent fraud, or protect rights and safety.
  • A successor organization, if ScrollKey or its operating business is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations.

We require service providers that process information for us to apply protections consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising and do not use advertising trackers.

09

Data retention and deletion

Device-local information remains on your device until it is cleared by the app, you clear the app’s storage, or you uninstall ScrollKey, subject to operating-system backup behavior.

Android pause counts are associated with one local calendar day. ScrollKey replaces the previous day’s counts when it next processes pause-count data after the local day changes.

Support communications are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to requests, resolve disputes, maintain appropriate business records, and comply with law.

Subscription information is retained by RevenueCat, Apple, and Google according to their respective retention policies and applicable legal obligations.

You may ask us to delete information under our control by contacting us at fre3run@gmail.com. Because ScrollKey does not use personal accounts, we may need limited purchase or device-related information to locate the correct anonymous subscription record. We may retain information when required by law or when necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

10

Your choices and rights

You may:

  • Change or remove protected apps within ScrollKey.
  • Revoke Family Controls access through iOS settings.
  • Disable ScrollKey’s Accessibility Service through Android settings.
  • Clear local information by clearing app data or uninstalling it.
  • Manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple or Google.
  • Request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information under our control.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, where applicable.
  • Withdraw consent for consent-based processing.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights and the right to complain to a local data-protection authority. To exercise a right, contact us using the address below.

11

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information processed. Device-local information is kept within app-private storage, subject to protections provided by your device and operating system. Information sent to subscription providers is transmitted using secure network connections.

No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

12

International data transfers

RevenueCat, Apple, Google, and other service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use or rely on legally recognized safeguards for international data transfers.

13

Children’s privacy

ScrollKey is not directed to children below the minimum age at which they may independently consent to the processing of personal information in their jurisdiction.

We do not knowingly request names, contact information, or other personal details from children. If a parent or guardian permits a child to use ScrollKey, the device-local information described in this policy may be processed to provide the app’s functionality.

If you believe we have received personal information from a child without legally valid consent, contact us so that we can investigate and delete it where required.

14

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when ScrollKey’s features, service providers, or legal obligations change. We will update the “Last updated” date and provide any additional notice required by law. Continued use of ScrollKey after an update means the revised policy applies, to the extent permitted by law.
